why the gathering

Connecticut is ranked top 10 in the least religious states in America and Danbury is considered one of the most diverse cities in America. With a population of 86,000, 40-60 different languages are spoken. We desire to cross boundaries through the Gospel. We simply want to see the community transformed with the message of hope 


Wesley A Johnson II


Wes is a native of Hampton, VA. He and Dionne have lived in the DMV (DC, MD & N.VA) where he served in youth ministry and as a director for a large Christian youth non-profit organization. In the summer of 2010 Wes and his family moved to the Northeast to reignite a large Christian Youth Organization. In March of 2016 they felt compelled to launch a church in CT where people can come as they are, be transformed and make a difference where they where.  They have 4 cool children. Wes a former jr college football player holds a graduate degree from Clarks Summit University.

Lady Dionne Johnson

First Lady, Sunday Morning Coordinator and Praise & Leadership 

Dionne T Heron -Johnson, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, as an Early Childhood Consultant, has over 20 years’ experience working with children ages 0 through adolescence age. Working in private, religious and public educational programs, Dionne has advocated, educated and consulted with families on various social emotional challenges in support of wellness. As a consultant, Dionne has a been highlighted for her unique best practices and positive guidance to both educators and parents.

She has extensive experience in behavior management, establishing a positive learning environment, teacher awareness and sensitivity, student perspective and self-regulation.  Through many mental health and early childhood collaboration and training's, Dionne has provide many resources and insight on mental health and social awareness for educators and families in the Greater Washington, DC area and New England. Dionne currently serves as co-chair for a local collaboration supporting and building awareness on social emotional challenges. With a B.A. in Early Childhood/Adolescent Development from Howard University and a Masters in Education Leadership concentrated in Early Childhood , Dionne is very well versed on ages and stages of development, social emotional wellness, community resources and classroom best practices.  She dedicates her time and efforts to ensure that children and families are well equipped with what needed to live a successful life.

She has worked with large Educational programs like Head Start, Prince George’s county public school and Kinder Care as an advocate and an instructor.   Dionne brings not only her expertise in the childcare field but also an innate love of learning and social wellbeing.

Dionne has served the church over many years as a Children’s Ministry Director, Praise and Worship leader and Marriage Ministry.  Dionne and Pastor Wes have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of 4 amazing children.


The Elders are responsible for the oversight of the church body and the shepherding of the members. The responsibility of managing the affairs of the church. Staff directs the ministries but the Elders provide overarching protection of the church body.


We are protected by the finance team. Members of the congregation who oversee the finances and direct the provision of the facilities needed by the church. They provide counsel to the pastoral team regarding major financial commitment of the church


Lead by the pastor this team oversees the day to day ministry and operation of the church. These Elders/Leaders serve the congregation and are responsible for the development of spiritual life of the church.
